Moss growth on roofs is extremely common, and although unattractive it is not a major problem and quite simple to fix. There are two things to worry about with Moss. The first is potential water damage. This is because the moss retains a lot of the water that falls on your roof, keeping your roof persistently damp.

Over the long term this moisture can seep through and cause water damage to your roof timbers. The other issue is the blockage of drains and guttering. As the moss comes loose it can fall into your guttering, if enough moss falls in there it can block your guttering, causing drips and adding additional pressure to your guttering system.

The Moss Removal Process

Removal is a pretty straightforward process that is best done manually to avoid any further damage to your tiles. Once the removal has been completed you can choose to have your tiles sprayed with an anti-moss solution which should keep it at bay for a few years.
